The Eye Foundation of Canada’
“Thanks for My Sight Night”
at Montecassino Banquet Hall
The Eye Foundation of Canada is committed to expanding our services to the community. To assist in the funding of our services, we send out mailings to potential donors and hold two annual events. Collaboration with the Toronto Blue Jays and the CNIB “Sight Day with the Jays”, we hosted “Thanks for My Sight Night” at Woodbine Race Track, which was held for the past few years. This event always was oversold.
Do you wonder what your donation allows us to do?
We provide research grants to outstanding eye care specialist in the community, and disseminate information to the community about the need to preserve eyesight.
The Eye Foundation of Canada is working to build a public awareness program that will work with industries to educate the workers on “eye safety” in the workplace. We are also gradually expanding our summer scholarship program across Canada. As we proceed from success to success, and our size permits, we plan to continue to take on new projects.
However, in order to do this, we need your help. View our previous events below.

The Eye Foundation of Canada’s
“Thanks for My Sight Night”
at Woodbine Racetrack!
The most recent “Thanks for My Sight Night” was held Wednesday October 8, 2008 at Woodbine Race Track, which was great fun, as always, and oversold, as usual.
This exciting event combined the thrill of the ‘Sport of Kings’ with the opportunity to mix and mingle with our dedicated supporters of the Foundation.
This evening was designed to bring together people who are interested in assisting those with eye problems, or have been patients themselves by having had their vision improved through eye treatments or surgery. It provided them with the opportunity to meet our board members and to support the Eye Foundation of Canada. This event has raised over $200,000 in past years for public education about eye disorders, the EFC scholarship program and research. We truly appreciate your support and attendance for this evening at the races, making it a huge success.
Your support and presence makes a difference.

A Collaborative Event with the Eye Foundation of Canada, the CNIB and the Toronto Blue Jays
The primary goal of the event is to educate and inform baseball fans of all ages about the critical importance of preserving their precious sight, since in many cases, the prevention of blindness is possible. At the game, we ask all patrons to donate used eye-glasses. These glasses are then donated to those in need. The “Give the Gift of Sight” with the Jays to date, has sent over 1000 pair of glasses to those individuals who are require assistance.

The Indo Canadian Golf Association held its annual golf tournament in July 2001 with proceeds going towards the Eye Foundation of Canada. This tournament provides an outstanding day of golf for 144 golfers while raising over $10,000 for the Foundation.
Along with an auction and a dinner, the participants come away with a great feeling of raising money for the preservation of eyesight and the work of the Foundation. The Indo Canadian Chamber of Commerce are strong supporters of the Eye Foundation of Canada for many years.
