The Eye Foundation Of Canada hosted its annual “Thanks for my Sight Night” dinner dance at the Columbus Event Centre.
Mark DeMontis, player of the Canadian Blind Hockey Association, was our keynote speaker. At age seventeen he was a year from playing NCAA hockey, with hopes of becoming a pro. Then he was diagnosed with Leber’s Optic Neuropathy, a disease that slowly robbed him of the central vision in both eyes. Legally blind, DeMontis is the founder of Courage Canada and a Member of The Canadian Blind Hockey Association.
